For Rangers - Kenya Ultramarathon
For Rangers - Kenya Ultramarathon
My Story
In September I will be competing in a 5 day ultramarathon through 230km of Kenyan wildlife conservancies to support the ongoing efforts to combat poaching. This is also a personal challenge which was conceived around 4am on a stag do in Amsterdam and is not something I have done before…
I am fundraising for Save the Rhino and ForRangers, two incredible causes that are doing their best to protect these amazing creatures and ensure they continue to thrive in face of constant threat from poachers. Any support would be massively appreciated and all funds raised will go directly to the two causes.
The race is self supported (only provided with water and basic shelter at the various campsites), however we will be protected by the anti-poaching rangers along the route from any rogue wildlife (rhino, elephants, lions etc). So all the more reason the ensure they are well funded and equipped!
---
Every day, wildlife rangers risk their lives protecting some of the world’s most endangered animals. This ongoing battle against the relentless threat of poaching is often in harsh, remote environments. Tragically, around 100 rangers are killed in Kenya each year in the line of duty, and countless more are injured or disabled. Behind these losses are families left grieving, often with no financial support or safety net to help them through their darkest hours.
By donating to ForRangers, you make an immediate, tangible impact. Your contribution doesn’t just help protect wildlife—it supports the courageous men and women who put their lives on the line every single day.
